Ex Brown Shipley private client investment manager joins Wealth Management team

Church House Investments, the Wealth and Investment Manager, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Hunter as a new Client Director, with responsibility for Wealth Management for private clients in the north of England and Scotland.

Rob joins us from Brown Shipley, which acquired the investment management department of his previous firm, the Edinburgh-based Gillespie MacAndrew in 2011, where he had been for a number of years.  Rob has been well known to Church House for many years as a long-term buyer of its award-winning Church House Investment Grade Fixed Income fund (“CHIG”) which he deployed in client portfolios.

Church House is a specialist investment business formed of two divisions, Wealth Management and Investment Management. Church House’s Wealth Management proposition is designed for individuals, families, trusts and charities, and the solutions provided by its in-house Investment Management team are used by our Wealth Management clients and other investment professionals.

Through its six portfolio funds, Church House is widely recognised by wealth managers for its independent, index-agnostic approach and focus on long-term management of risk.

Rob Hunter said:

“I am delighted to be joining a private and independent firm like Church House, whose reputation stands out in our industry.  Church House’s commitment and approach to client service will enable me to look after clients in the way that I believe they should be, and I look forward to connecting with investors who appreciate Church House’s focus on capital preservation and risk-adjusted returns, free from all the current industry fads.”

James Johnsen, Head of Wealth Management at Church House commented:

“Rob has been a long-established friend of Church House for many years and we look forward to welcoming him, his experience and his many connections into the business, and to helping us expand our client base in the north of England and Scotland.”

Jerry Wharton, Chief Executive Officer at Church House, said:

“Hiring Rob is another important step forward in the fulfilment of our vision for Church House as being the natural home for clients and their managers who appreciate our service ethos, and the refreshing freedom to act that our size and market position afford us.  We welcome high quality investment professionals who can make a personal contribution to the development of our business and brand.”
