As part of our growth plans, we are pleased to announce several important senior appointments.
Fred Mahon and Cranley Macfarlane step up to become Deputy CIOs in support of Jeremy Wharton, CEO and CIO. Fred continues to manage the CH Esk Global Equity Fund as well as the recently launched CH Human Capital Fund, while Cranley, who joined alongside the late James Edgedale in 2022, oversees the delivery of the Bespoke Portfolio service and co-manages CH’s flagship Tenax Multi-Asset Strategy Fund. Both are therefore well-placed to develop CH’s investment thinking.
At Board level, Rory Campbell-Lamerton, lead-manager of the CH UK Equity Growth Fund, and Stephen Kershaw, Finance Director, join the CH board, as Executive Directors, to help further CH’s corporate strategy. Both have been with CH for over 12 years; their experience and knowledge will help bolster the existing executive directors, Jeremy Wharton, James Johnsen and Roger Davis.
Mark Davidson, who joined CH in 2018 as Marketing Director, has been promoted to Business Operations Director, broadening his role overseeing delivery of the whole range of CH’s products and services and the various platforms on which they operate.
Joe Manners, who has been with the firm since 2020, has been promoted to Client Director in recognition of the increasingly important role he plays in bringing on new clients and looking after a large range of families, trusts and charities.
Jerry Wharton, CEO, commented:
“I am delighted to announce these appointments which demonstrate the strength and depth we have so carefully nurtured in-house over the years since our MBO and sale of Church House Trust Plc (the private bank) to Virgin Money in 2009.
These appointments reflect the stability and continuity we believe are essential in growing a successful private client business, now one of the few that remains genuinely private and independent, a status we cherish. I have been delighted how well these changes have been embraced by everyone in our tightly-knit team based in London and Sherborne”.
