Church House supports volunteer convoys committed to providing materials and practical assistance.
Since February 2022, Ukraine has been enduring a devastating full-scale invasion by Russia, leading to one of the largest humanitarian crises in Europe since World War II. Millions of people have been displaced, communities destroyed, and countless lives affected. Amidst the ongoing conflict, humanitarian aid remains crucial, providing essential services such as food, shelter, medical care, and support to those who need it most.
Under the banner of ‘MedivactruckstoUkraine’, a dedicated and inspirational group of volunteers decided they needed to do something to help.
Since the conflict broke out, they have conducted nine successful trips, raising a staggering £1.1 million. Church House are delighted to support the incredible efforts of all involved.
You can follow the story of their most recent trip here, including a run-in with German customs and a visit to a project set up to help those dealing with PTSD. Support for the team can also be given here.
Church House Chairman and volunteer, Michael Baines, said
“Witnessing the impact of war in Ukraine is extremely humbling. The suffering is heartbreaking, and yet the spirit of the people remains strong. The support from Church House and others truly does make a difference to the lives of people experiencing extreme hardship”.
Michael was joined on this recent trip by his son Oliver, who documented their journey, which you can read here.
